Qualifications

Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree Major in Food Technology or any related course.
Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in food industry (food ingredients/ raw materials) and Technical Sales / Marketing.
Have in-depth knowledge of the food industry, market and competitors.
Strong understanding of technical functional applications.
Strong negotiating skills.
Have problem solving ability.
Capable of expanding the product range through new product introduction.
Have excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational and numerical skills.
Have an entrepreneurial spirit, motivated and capable of driving sales and achieving sales and margin targets.
Excellent in presentation skills

Duties & Responsibilities

The Sales Manager for BU Food will perform and ensure the following is implemented:

Responsible for the attainment of the sales budget assigned to this role.
Generate sales and margins by targeting and creating new business development on a range of food ingredients.
Expand the business by developing new accounts and new product development.
In line with business strategy, to set and agree annual sales budgets with Product Manager(s).
Create and communicate development plans and sales strategies with the team to ensure that business objectives are optimised, and sales retention and growth targets are achieved.
Achieve their objectives through effective planning, setting sales goals, analysing data on past performance and projecting future performance;
Ensure that the team works cross functionally with other departments by collaborating with product managers to generate lead sources and expand the target research teams to make sure customer needs are met;
Strategically foster customer engagement
Regularly call on customers to ensure products & service levels are satisfactorily meeting customer needs
Ensure that stock inventory will be depleted as per timeline;
Build good networking with local Product Managers, colleagues, management and Business Groups in the different markets and regions.
Assist on the Credit and Collection with the completion of credit applications, credit limits for new and existing customers, and information on potential doubtful debts.
Responsible for obtaining profitable results through the sales team by developing the team through motivation, counselling, skills development and product knowledge development.
Responsible for monitoring the performance of the sales team by establishing a system of reports and communications involving sales reports and cyclical sales meetings.
Presentation Skills:
Must be good in understanding customers’ needs and can efficiently manage their expectations
Organized Sales Calls
Must be knowledgeable in company products (Product list & Price List), Sample kit, Company Profile
Administrative Skills:
Consistently plan and organize work efficiently e.g. scheduling of appointment in advance and prompt to customer
Maintain and update account and sales records/report.
Submit sales report, new development and expense report in a timely manner. Must be accurate and include all receipts for expense report.
Any special report requested by management shall be done in a timely manner, organized and well thought out.
Punctuality i.e. timely submission of OB

Develop strategic relationships within clients, to ensure that new sales opportunities are created and to ensure partnership relationships are strengthened.
